Wuliangye net profit up 25% in Q1

Chinese liquor maker Wuliangye Yibin Co Ltd said its net profit increased 25% from a year earlier to RMB 1.26 billion in the first quarter of this year.
Earnings per share stood at RMB 0.33, up 24.81% year on year. Total sales revenue rose 8.19% from a year ago to RMB 3.34 billion, according to the company's quarterly report released on Wednesday.
Its gross profit margin increased 7 percentage points year on year to 67%, a record high in the company's history.
Shares of Wuliangye went up 3.68% to close at RMB 16.91 on Thursday.
