Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. said yesterday that it sold 21,684 vehicles in July, down 11.9% over the same month last year and down 26.3% from June, media reported today.

For the first seven months of this year, Geely sold 217, 400 vehicles, up 33.96% from a year earlier, achieving 54.4% of its full-year sales target.

In the January to July period, Geely boosted sales of the Freedom Ship, the King Kong, the Emgrand and the Vision to 4,858 units, 4,179 units, 4,154 units and 2,777 units respectively.

The company said its July sales were influenced by the weaker domestic demand the start of the off-season in the Chinese auto market.

In July, China's domestic car sales saw a year-on-year growth of 14.42% and a month-on-month drop of 11.90%.
