Pioneer Corp, one of Japan's largest manufacturers of consumer- and business-use electronics products, is teaming up with Suning Appliance Co Ltd<002024> to expand its energy-efficient television business in China, Shanghai Daily reported.

The firm has inked an exclusive distribution deal with Suning Appliance Co to launch its liquid crystal display and light emitting diode TVs in China for the first time, according to the sources.

Pursuant to the deal, customers can buy Pioneer TVs in 300 Suning outlets in over 50 cities, including Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. The firm will expand the number to over 1,100 stores.

Pioneer Corp eyes LCD TV in the Chinese market. It sold 7 million units in the first five months of this year, a rise of 41.9% year on year.
