Taiwan January-June outbound investment in China jumps 196%

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in January-June 2010 approved 217 projects proposed by Taiwan-based enterprises to invest in China, with the number increasing by 174.68% and the total value of US$5.74 billion rising by 195.75% on year, according to MOEA.
In the 6-month period, the government approved another 110 overseas investment projects proposed by Taiwan-based companies, with total value growing 12.37% to reach US$1.341 billion. The MOEA said it also approved 949 projects proposed by foreign and overseas Chinese enterprises to invest in Taiwan, with total value rising 22.53% on year to reach US$2.218 billion.
