Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer by revenue, posted a net profit of NT$46.68 billion for the first nine months this year, representing a 1.9% increase from NT$45.83 billion a year earlier, sources reported. 

The company said in a filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange that its diluted earnings per share during the Jan.-Sep. period rose to NT$5.40 from NT$5.32 in the same period of last year.

The Taiwan-listed company's net profit for the third quarter amounted to NT$18.3 billion, up 2.7% year on year. Unconsolidated business revenue in the Jul-Sep period this year slid 10.5% to NT$385.84 billion from NT$431.21 billion a year earlier.
