Globe Telecom Plans $500 Million CAPEX in 2010

Philippines based Globe Telecom is to allocate US$500 million to network CAPEX during 2010, the company has announced. Of the total, some US$230 million will go on upgrading its existing network, with US$170 million going on mobile network expansion plans.
The 2010 spending plan also includes around US$50 million for Globe's land line data networks which primarily caters to the corporate and enterprise sector, along with a further US$50 million on submarine and international telecoms facilities.
During last year, the company boosted its base stations by 22 percent to just over 10,000.
Analysts at the Mobile World reports that the operator ended last September with a shade over 23.1 million customers, representing a market share of 32%.
