China's leading Internet portal Sina released the newest version of its instant messaging (IM) software UC2005 on Wednesday, reports eNet. According to Sina CEO Wang Yan, after Sina acquired Longmaster in April, the Longmaster's IM software UC has been updated several times and has been bundled with most of Sina's services. UC2005 incorporates Sina's casual game platform iGame, which was jointly developed by Sina and Korean company NetMarble. Those who register a UC2005 account receive 1G of email space and 450 free short messages per month. UC2005 also has an information bar that provides real time content like news and weather forecasts. UC presently has 80 million registered accounts and 310,000 peak concurrent users, said Sina.
