Shanghai's green energy auto output to reach RMB 30 bln by 2012

Shanghai is expected to realize around RMB 30 billion in output value of new energy autos by 2012, according to a local government officer at the International Forum on Chinese Automobile Industry Development held in Tianjin.
Wang Zhe, an officer of Shanghai's new energy automobile promotion office, said that the city aims to build 25,000 charging stations for electricity and hybrid power vehicles by the end of 2012, when around 100,000 new energy autos, including 60,000 passenger vehicles, will be produced in Shanghai annually.
The private buyers of new energy vehicles may receive subsidies as the city is in the process of applying the subsidies to the central government, Wang added.
Wan Gang, minister of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, noted that the country aims to realize industrialization in electric vehicle industry in the next five years.
The layout for the new energy industry will be made out within two months, sources reported.
