Port of Yingkou container volume soars 41pc

NORTHEASTERN China port of Yingkou lifted a total of 309,000 TEU in January, a robust increase of 41 per cent compared to the same month in the preceding year, Xinhua reported.
The Liaoning provincial port in East Bay on the Gulf of Chili in north Yellow Sea, had an overall cargo tonnage in January of 19.2 million tonnes, up 25 per cent year on year.
The port said its advanced preparation has helped avoid the negative impact of the cold weather on operations. The port received and handled 1,081 ships in January, up 30 per cent.
