From its inception in 1981, Marintec China has become the definitive maritime conference and exhibition in Asia. Marintec China 2005 attracted 1,032 exhibiting companies and 30,097 visitors to the fair, which are 27.6% and 24.7% higher than the previous edition respectively, and is the largest edition of its 24 years of history.

With more and more international companies exhibiting at the fair and the concurrent Senior Maritime Forum attracting more and more international awareness, Marintec China has become the most important international maritime trade fair in the region.
